ISASecure ICSA-100 Added to Cybersecurity Certification Scope

FM Approvals has expanded its cybersecurity certification accreditation with the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) to include ISASecure® ICSA-100 ISA IIoT Component Security Assurance. ISASecure® ICSA-100 is used to assess cybersecurity robustness and identify vulnerabilities of certain internet-connected industrial products. The framework for ISASecure® ICSA-100 builds upon ISA/IEC 62443 – the world’s consensus-based automation and control systems cybersecurity standards – with some additional requirements specifically for IIoT devices.

ISASecure® ICSA-100 includes the completion of a security maintenance audit (SMA), which requires periodic surveillance evaluations of security maintenance practices for IIoT devices. Similar to CSA and SSA certifications, the ICSA certification must maintain any prerequisite SDLAs to be ISASecure® ICSA-100 compliant.

With an ICSA certification from FM Approvals, manufacturers of IIoT devices and components can demonstrate independent, third-party confirmation of their products’ cybersecurity capabilities – a distinct competitive advantage over alternative products that are not tested and certified to be resilient against these complex vulnerabilities.
