Fenestrations

The loss of the building envelope during a high wind event such as a hurricane, tropical cyclone or typhoon can lead to severe damage to the building and its contents. Fenestrations are building components such as windows, doors and wall cladding that enclose openings in exterior walls and help maintain the building envelope.

FM Approved fenestrations have been evaluated for resistance to wind borne debris impact, static and cyclic wind pressure and water leakage. As intended by the manufacturer, all such products should maintain the integrity of the building envelope for the design conditions for which they are certified.
