Non-Sparking
Non-sparking equipment is constructed to minimize the risk of occurrence of arcs and sparks capable of creating an ignition hazard during conditions of normal operation.
Non-sparking circuits do not contain any components that arc under normal conditions.
- Lamps that can be accessed for replacement only with the use of a tool
- Manually operated switches accessible only by the use of a tool
Equipment certified using this protection method is suitable for use in Class I, Zone 2.
