Examination Standard 1635, Plastic Pipe and Fittings for Automatic Sprinkler Systems, has undergone a revision with the following changes:
- The fire exposure tests, which allow for installation of the pipe without a thermal barrier, have been revised from the previous full scale “room” type tests to a parallel panel test
- Exposed Use fire test performance requirements have been broken into two categories – Universal Applications and Restricted Applications
- Editorial changes including those necessary to update the standard to the new examination standard format
