Exterior Walls

When the wind blows, the walls of the building are the last line of defense. The building owner needs to be sure that the panels can withstand those winds. Wall panel assemblies certified by FM Approvals that are designed to be utilized for exterior construction have been evaluated for fire, wind and hail resistance performance. These walls have characteristics which limit their ignitability, minimize flame propagation and can withstand the rated wind pressures and hail. In some cases, they have also been evaluated for their resistance to wind borne debris. While they have been evaluated for fire performance, these panels should not be mistaken as fire rated construction.

Wall and ceiling panels should always be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation guidelines. Wall and ceiling panels that are certified by FM Approvals for use as exterior panels made also be utilized as interior panels.
