Fire Pumps

When the public water supply doesn’t have enough pressure to supply the fire sprinkler protection system, a fire pump is a must. But a fire pump that is not dependable doesn’t do the end user any good. Fire pumps that are FM Approved are designed by their manufacturers to provide reliable performance at the critical stage of an incident. FM Approvals certifies a variety of pumps:

• Horizontal split-case type centrifugal
• In-line
• Vertical shaft, turbine type centrifugal
• Vertical turbine barrel

The manufacturer of an FM Approved fire pump, or the authorized representative, is solely responsible for furnishing a complete fire pump set consisting of a pump, a driver, a controller and all the necessary accessories.
